12/06/06 The Inspection Procedures Course (G-108)/Licensing Practices and Procedures Course (G-109) - location change: The Inspection Procedures Course (G-108) which is being held September 24-28, 2007 and Licensing Practices and Procedures Course (G-109) which is being held September 17-21, 2007 are relocating to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Anyone interested in attending this course needs to submit there training application to Brenda Usilton by e-mail at BGU@nrc.gov or fax application to 301-415-3502. or fax it to (301) 415-3502.

10/02/06 Effective October 1, 2006 the Office of State and Tribal Programs became the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards (NMSS). The new Office Director is Charles L. Miller and the new Deputy Director is George Pangburn.
9/22/06 FY2007 Training Course List (courses that directly relate to Agreement State programs) STP-06-089 pdf logo
7/25/06 H-313: formerly "Teletherapy & Brachytherapy Course" and now "Brachytherapy,Gamma Knife and Emerging Technologies course" is scheduled for October 16-20, 2006 and December 4-8, 2006 in Houston, Texas. Tuition cost is $1,727 per student . Anyone interested in attending this course should submit a training application to Brenda Usilton at BGU@NRC.GOV or fax it to (301) 415-3502.

G-205: Root Cause/Incident Investigation Workshop: in Tallahassee, Florida on October 2-6, 2006. Cost is $1,647 per student.

Since these courses are scheduled early in the new fiscal year we thought it was important to get notification out now. The FY 2007 training course schedule will not be issued until the first week of October, 2006.
6/20/06 New Resource: The Increased Controls (IC) Toolbox web site and IC Talk discussion forum is now available to authorized users.
6/16/06 New Resource: The Regulation Toolbox is now available. It provides: information to assist the Agreement States when they are revising and submitting a rule or amendment, a flow diagram of the Regulation Review Process, tips and sample letters for use by the Agreement States and the NRC Reviewers, a list of resources, and contacts.
6/7/06 INCREASED CONTROLS ORDERS AND GUIDANCE (see 3/16)
On June 1, 2006, two new Q&As regarding identifying oneself as an increased control recipient, and the sensitivity of trustworthiness and reliability policies and procedures were posted to the web site. These can be viewed under the May 31, 2006 link, near the bottom of the document.

5/5/06 H-201: Health Physics Technology Course - date change: Please note the class scheduled for January 22-February 2, 2007 has been changed to January 29-February 9, 2007. On March 21, 2006, a new Q&A regarding whether a standard key could be considered as a means to "disable" a vehicle was posted to the web site (http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/doc-collections/enforcement/security/index.html).

3/16/06 INCREASED CONTROLS ORDERS AND GUIDANCE
On March 9, 2006 STP notified the Agreement State Radiation Control Program Directors that any issues related to Increased Controls that could be answered generically in the form of a question and answer (Q&A) would be posted to the following web site: (http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/doc-collections/enforcement/security/index.html).
Currently, there are five questions posted to the web site covering such issues as fixed gauges, extreme remote locations, and research reactors.
As additional questions are finalized, STP will notify the programs via e-mail, indicating that there has been a new posting to the web site.
